TABE Math Prep Class Manual
Contents
Do you need to get a certain Grade Equivalent (e.g., ≥ 8.0) on the combined mathematics sections of the Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to be admitted to an apprenticeship or occupational-training program? Most people have no trouble with the Applied Mathematics section because they have, on average, one minute to solve each problem and they can use a calculator. It's the Mathematics Computation section that causes all the trouble—probably because test takers aren't allowed to use a calculator and have, on average, only thirty-eight seconds to solve each problem.

The TABE Math Prep Class Manual (92 pages, more than a 1,000 practice problems) was designed to help people improve their basic math computational skills (involving decimals, fractions, percents, and signed numbers) so that they can achieve at least these Grade Equivalents on the various forms of the D-Level TABE:
